Major Development in Assembly District 5 Election: Republican Joe Patterson’s Challenger Suspends Candidacy and Endorses Joe Patterson ForAssembly

Rocklin, Calif. – -Today a challenger to Joe Patterson’s campaign to succeed Assemblyman Kevin Kiley, Jonathan Zachreson founder of Reopen California Schools, announced that he will be suspending his campaign for the 5th Assembly District and endorsing Joe Patterson. The announcement is a major development in the election for the 5th District because with just under a month to go before the filing deadline, Joe Patterson continues to unify Republican support for his candidacy and has now narrowed the GOP field in the Safe Republican District.

“California needs a lot of change to get our state and our community back on track, but change won’t come by fighting like-minded individuals working toward common goals. That’s why I believe at this point it is in the best interest of our community to suspend my campaign and support Joe Patterson for State Assembly. I want to work with Joe to restore common sense and give parents a voice in Sacramento,” said Jonathan Zachreson.

Patterson responded to the announcement stating, “I’m grateful to have Jonathan’s support. He is a rising star in California politics because he has the passion to do what is right and put people over politics. Our efforts are best served when we are united. Jonathan and I are fighting to give parents and children a voice at the state and local level to combat the out-of-control mandates coming from the Capitol. I look forward to working together with Jonathan to stand up for families instead of campaigning against one another.”

This new endorsement follows the recent endorsements of Assemblymember Kevin Kiley, Placer GOP and Assembly Republican Leader James Gallagher. For more information about Joe’s campaign including the latest news and endorsements, please visit www.JoePatterson.com.
